Launching Nighttime at the NHL Inspired with a Bevy of Highlight-Reel Ambitions
Well, prepare to be baseball fans In case Wednesday was any indication of what we can expect to find this year in the NHL. The Leafs and Canadiens kicked off things together with John Tavares potting his first target. It had been, as that moment was as newsworthy. Auston Matthews welcomed us into the year with this power play snipe in the scatter: Oh, and he added a second in overtime to seal the win for Toronto, offering seven goals in 3 Opening Night games.
The Capitals increased their Stanley Cup banner D.C., and they followed it up with a 7-0 whooping of the Bruins. There is a Whole Lot of aims to sort through, but maybe this turning backhand from Nic Dowd made enough of an announcement as Washington started its name defence:
Outside West, Canucks forward Jake Virtanen showcased some soft palms, slipping the puck and getting out rushing Flames defenseman Mark Giordano, sprung in the penalty box.
(Elias Pettersson's purpose, a complete snipe about the very first shot of his NHL career, was not too shabby, either.)The tally of Virtanen gave Vancouver a 4-1 lead to an eventual win that was 5-2. The night's target goes to Sharks Tomas Hertl ahead.
The Czech submitted a candidate for Goal of the Year which will leave the remainder of the league. However we're guessing they will be fine moving ahead, San Jose dropped to the Ducks 5-2. There are 1,267 games let us hope they are all full of targets such as these, and left in this NHL season.
