  • Naomi Watts to Perform with Gretchen Carlson in Showtime's Roger Ailes series


    Showtime's limited series about Roger Ailes has landed a second high-profile Australian celebrity. The media announced Friday the Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Naomi Watts is the place to play with veteran journalist Gretchen Carlson reverse Russell Crowe as Ailes,



     the overdue Fox News creator who had been ousted from the community after several allegations of sexual misconduct.  Carlson was the first girl to file a sexual harassment lawsuit against the influential businessman, resulting in her departure from Fox.

     While Watts has made her name in the movie, the most recent role continues her latest series on tv, which has comprised Showtime's Twin Peaks resurrection and Netflix's ill-fated Gypsy.



     According to Gabriel Sherman's bestselling book The Loudest Voice in the Room, the eight-episode series"intends to shed light on the psychology that drives the political process from the top down" through various points of view.


     Showtime's untitled project comes as a movie is also being placed together about the Ailes/Fox News sexual harassment scandal.  Like Watts, fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman will depict Carlson, while Margot Robbie, John Lithgow, and Charlize Theron will also be onboard.
